About Us

Broadcasting from the heart of Westwood with Iford Primary School, Westwood Radio is organised and run by the children for the local school and village community of Westwood.

Reporting on school news, sports, items of community, local and world interest and even birthday shout outs and interviews, the content of each broadcast is created entirely by the children and presented with confidence and energy every Friday afternoon. We broadcast at 2.30pm every Friday to the school community and online to the world and we always love people to get in touch either by text on 078600 17404 or by email: radio@westwoodwithiford.org.

Westwood Radio and its far reaching links into the community has been made possible through Big Lottery Funding. The grant we received has enabled us to work very closely with Russell Prue of Anderton Tiger Radio who has taken time to tailor our professional installation to suit our exact needs and ensure that every member of our broadcasting team is mic ready to broadcast to the world.

With opportunities to develop speaking and listening skills, confidence and resilience, all of the children within our school community will be able to experience and take part in quality broadcasts that include interviews, topical areas of interest, content and music to suit all tastes. Our desire to involve our local community and an innovative approach to expanding our audience, we are delighted that Westwood Radio is online and available to all.
